Please join the Northfield Recreation Committee in their annual Spring Clean-Up at Memorial Park and the Falls Fields scheduled for Saturday, April 27th. The clean-up will begin at 9:00 and end at 4:00 (maybe before). Lunch will be provided. Please be sure to bring tools you might want to use to do a job you might want to do. It will be general grounds clean-up; some staining and painting; repairs of benches, bleachers, dugouts; mulching; etc., etc. Rakes, shovels, leaf blowers, hammers, drills, extension cords, work gloves are all handy tools to have on hand. Please sign in when you arrive and a meal ticket will be handed to you. You will need this ticket for your lunch. Coaches, players, parents of players are all expected to be there to help clean up the fields you use. Everyone will meet at Memorial Park unless other plans are made with you specifically.

Green Up Day 2019 in Northfield will start at 8:30 A.M. behind the Fire Station (128 Wall Street) and should finish around Noon. The Town of Northfield is now accepting applications for several recreation positions for the 2019 summer season. Applicants must be 15 years of age on or before May 1, 2019, to be qualified to hold a position. Positions Available: Head Lifeguard, Lifeguards, and Water Safety Instructors. All applicants must hold current certification. Application forms can be picked up at the Northfield Municipal Building (address below) or call 485-9823 to have one sent. The Town of Northfield is accepting letters of interest for two (2) vacant positions on its five-member Development Review Board (DRB). The DRB is responsible for evaluating applications for development review including site plans, subdivisions, variances, and conditional use. The DRB also hears appeals of decisions made by the Zoning Administrator. The Northfield Planning Commission currently has two vacancies and is seeking new members for appointment to the Commission. The position requires a commitment to attending at least one monthly evening meeting and participation in the work of the Commission. The Planning Commission is responsible for drafting the Northfield Town Plan and Zoning Bylaws, and other duties related to land use planning. To be considered for appointment, please submit a letter of interest, including a summary of any relevant background, to the Commission. The Mountain Alliance & Casella Waste Management, Inc. will be holding four (4) Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events during 2019. The first collection will be held in Randolph on Saturday, April 20, 2019. The second will be held in Northfield on Saturday, July 27, 2019. The third will be held in Randolph on Saturday, September 21, 2019. The fourth and final collection will be held in Northfield on Saturday, November 2, 2019. The events are only for residents of Randolph, Braintree, Brookfield, and Northfield. Please click here for more information.
