TOWN OF NORTHFIELD, VERMONT
PUBLIC ACCESS TO MUNICIPAL
BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES
As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Town of Northfield's municipal buildings and facilities will be closed to the public through Monday, April 6, 2020. At that time, the Town will post further notices and updates on closures and services. Please note that this is a precautionary decision to ensure the safety of the public and municipal employees. Further, all ambulance, fire, police, highway, water, sewer, and electric services will be fully operational with minor adjustments in how employees interact with the public.
All municipal employees will be working and available by phone or email to answer questions, provide certain documents, and receive payments. Payments can be delivered by mail or deposited in the drop box. In addition, water, sewer, and electric utility payments can be made online by visiting the Town’s website.
Requests for information, documents, licenses and certificates should be made to the Town Clerk’s Office at 485-5421 or visiting the Town’s website. For questions regarding utility billing, please call 485-5411. For other municipal questions, please call 485-6121. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working diligently to limit the disruption to the public.

NORTHFIELD MUTUAL AID TASK FORCE
The Northfield Mutual Aid Task Force has formed to link local people with COVID-19 information and/or resources with those who need assistance. They also are looking for volunteers to assist with this effort. Please click here for their contact information.
NORTHFIELD TRANSFER STATION
The Northfield Transfer Station will remain open during its regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) on Wednesdays and Saturdays. STATE OF VERMONT
PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION
The Vermont Public Utility Commission has established a moratorium on involuntary utility disconnections during the current COVID-19 state of emergency. This prohibits "gas, electric and telecommunications shutoffs for all residential ratepayers until the state of emergency in Vermont is lifted." Please click here to view the full document.
NORTHFIELD TOWN PLAN UPDATE
The Northfield Planning Commission has finalized and approved its draft of the revised Northfield Town Plan. The Town Select Board has held two (2) public hearings (01/14/20 & 02/11/20) and there will be additional opportunities for public comment before final approval. FIREWORKS PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Northfield residents planning to hold a fireworks display should be aware that a revised fireworks permit form has been adopted by the Select Board. Please click here for the form. Please note the permit application has to be submitted to the Town Manager at least fifteen (15) days prior to the event. ADA NON-COMPLIANCE GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE

BURN PERMIT CONTACT INFORMATION
Burn Permits are required in the Town of Northfield. Contact a Fire Warden before you burn. Please call Fire Warden Brian Elwell at 485-9036 or Assistant Fire Warden Titus Soble at 793-9030.
WINTER PARKING BAN
There will be no parking of motor vehicles on the streets or roads of the Town of Northfield, Vermont between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. from November 15, 2019 through April 15, 2020. As per: Northfield VT Town Traffic Ordinance, Article VI, Section 5
